Vida y obra Enseñó durante cerca de 40 años en la Universidad de Bolonia, donde fundó y dirigió el prestigioso Istituto Giuridico y la Rivista Trimestrale di Diritto e Procedura Civile, como antes la de Diritto Agrario. Autor de más de veinte libros, varios de ellos traducidos al idioma español, y de más de un centenar de artículos de revista (cfr. bibliografía en Studi in onore di Antonio Cicu, 1, Milán 1951, IX-XII), abordó con agudeza todos los campos del Derecho civil y no pocos de teoría jurídica general, pero su máximo empeño incidió en las áreas del Derecho de familia y del de sucesiones mortis causa.
